Dresden has an elaborate public transportation system consisting of 18 tram
routes and 26 bus routes that run throughout the city. The dense network
of routes serves almost 200 tram stops and 300 bus stops. A great deal
of work has gone into maintaining the network of tracks in recent years.
There is a combined system of tram, bus and train. It works very well and connects all points of interest. Most lines also run at night.
Day tickets and Family tickets are available and practical for using the system throughout the day. These tickets allow you to ride on all trams, buses and trains. They are relatively cheap and valid until the next day at 4:00 am.
Cyclist-designated roads make Dresden especially easy to navigate by bike, a popular choice among locals during rush hour.
