Homework:
- No late work accepted (not even for athletes, illness, etc.)
- Show work for credit
- Solutions on Blackboard after due date
- Early work is accepted, can be slid under office door
- Lowest two grades dropped to compensate for not accepting late work
Projects:
- Three assignments, posted on Blackboard, collected in class
- Will require a graphing calculator or Maple (on campus computers)
Reading Quizzes:
- One for each section, must be done before class on Blackboard
- Lowest 3 grades dropped to account for technical difficulties, etc.
Exams:
- Three in-class exams, with calculator, see schedule
- Comprehensive final exam, with calculator, check Registrar's schedule for date and time
- No makeup exams, final exam score may substitute for missed exam/lowest score
There will be an open-book group quiz before each test in addition to any homework and/or project due that day.
Grades:
- Three Exams: 42%
- Final Exam: 24%
- Homework/Quiz: 22%
- Projects: 4.5%
- Reading Quizzes: 3.5%
- Participation: 3%
- Free Point: 1%
- C (70-79) is average, B (80-89) is good, A (90-100) is exceptional
Attendance/Participation:
- Taken using clickers
- May be withdrawn for absences (WA) with 5 absences
- Participation grade is percentage of clicker questions answered
Cheating (copying homework or test answers):
First offense gets a 0, second fails course.
