I was raised in Steger, Illinois, attending St. Liborius Grade School, until age 13 when I left for high school in Watertown, Wisconsin, at Sacred Heart College.

Steger, Illinois, was a little town of 4000 people in the 1940's. It was famous for its piano factory. My grandparents enjoyed having all the grandchildren over at holidays

The high school I attended in Watertown, Wisconsin, closed after my freshman year so I went south to finish up. In New Orleans at Holy Cross High School, I was able to continue music studies with Brother Gerald Muller at the high school.

For eleven years I taught at Viterbo University in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

At Viterbo University I started violin lessons with Sister Marcella Steffes. Later I studied with three successive concert masters of the La Crosse Symphony and the first chair violinist of the Ataria Quartet of Boston.

Now I am a Texan.
