Soccer has been a huge part of my life, so I thought it was only fair to create a tribute to the great game.

Picture: Childhood Soccer PictureI started playing soccer when I was six years old. The only reason I wanted to play was because my older brother was and I thought he was so cool. I got really into when my best friend Kari and her mom convinced my mom and I to sign up for a team known as the Flames (you can see my picture to the left). The flames was where I hit it big and met a whole new line up of friends. Soccer at this stage in my life was just fun! I remember my team mates and I would show up to practice in blue jean shorts and cute shirts with bows in our hair. Before all of our games we would sit under the trees by the fields and play with our Beanie Babies. That was always our favorite thing to do.

As I grew up the game that was once just a fun hang out with my girl friends had grown into a passion and love. Soccer became my favorite thing to do. When the time rolled around, I joined a club team and then switched clubs to make sure I was on the best team I could possibly be on. Then I came to the age of high school where I played other sports like volleyball and ran track on top of playing high school soccer and club soccer. It became really tiring so I decided to focus on soccer. I played all throughout high school and my club team helped me land a spot on the St. Edward's University Women's Soccer team. It was my childhood dream come true. Now at nineteen years old, I am still in love with the game.
