Middies: This is a player who has the ability
to cross both sides of the field. These guys are the
players who run constantly where they can play both defense and
offense. Middies play with a short stick the whole time and each team
can have 3 middies on at a time.. Most critics feel that teams who win
have the best middies.
Attack: The attackmen
are the
offensemen who stay on one of the field. They also use a short stick
but dont play defense. There are 3 attackman in play during a game.
They are the players who are quick and score most of the goals in the
game.
Defensemen: These
players
have extremely long poles used to play better defense. They too can
only play on one side of the field where their goal is to shut down
attackman. These guys are usually big stong physical men who
bring a presence to defense.
Goalie: There is only
goalie in
a game for each team. The job of the goalie is to block shots and clear
the ball to other players to get away from his side. He can only stay
on one side and mostly stands in the crease where the goals is so he or
she can protect it. His stick has a much bigger head so he can
have the ability to catch and stop more shots. Critics feel the critic
has the ability to win the game by him or herself.
