The rules are crucial when playing lacroose. First, everyone must  have the right equipment in order to step on a field. This includes helmet, gloves, mouth piece, stick, arm pads, and proper foot wear. Once this established, then game rules come intoplay. One rule that usually gets a flag is offsides. It is mandatory to have three attackmen on one side and three defensmen with a goalie on the other at all times.

Middies can sub for other positions when non-middies cross to the other side. With checking and hitting, there is no hits to the head or back unless the players turn into it.  On each side there is a crease where the goalie stands to block shots, no offense players are allowed in that crease. Morever, the is a restraing box where players sub in and out during the game which is located right next to sidelines where the coaches stand.

If a player doesnt sub through the box, its a flag. In addition, their is another bo located at either end of the field were once a ball is cleared from the other side,  the ball must enter that box before a time limit runs out. These are the major rules that must be enforced. However, there is the small one like keeping your mouth piece in, no fighting, or illegal sticks. These rules are important when playing the game of lacrosse and understanding why flags are thrown. For information click on the rule book below to get a better insight on rules of lacrosse.
