FILM ANALYZING!

Some of Becca's Favorite Films:

.
Zeffereli's Romeo and Juliet
This was the first adaptation of Romeo and Juliet to actually star actors who were of an appropriate age for the parts and the costumes were also beautifully designed. I remember seeing this adaptation at about 16 or 17 years old and feeling completely transported.
As a fan of JRR Tolkien's trilogy, these three films are, in my opinion, the best movies to ever come out of the fantasy genre. The films starred a perfect cast of actors who almost make one wonder if they were meant to play any other part and adapted the books well enough for fans of the books to enjoy them as well as a mainstream audience. I am still amazed to find more and more people who are fans.Lord of the Rings
Penelope
This lesser known modern-day fairy tale starred Christina Ricci as a young girl cursed with the nose of a pig. In a day in age where good fairy tale movies are few and far between, Penelope turns a story that could have simply been focused on an ugly girl trying to find love into a journey of self-discovery. One of the best parts of the film is that the love story element takes a backseat to the main character's search for independence.
